Yesterday’s stage of the Tour de France will go down in history – the riders completed the route with an average speed exceeding 50 km/h, setting a new record for the fastest stage in the history of the race!
From the very start, the action was intense. Mathieu van der Poel (MVDP), along with a teammate from Alpecin - Deceuninck, launched a heroic breakaway that lasted nearly the entire stage. He was only caught by the charging peloton just 600 meters before the finish line, showing incredible determination and selfless effort for the team.
The crowning moment came with Tim Merlier’s brilliant sprint victory, as he crossed the line first and secured another stage win for Soudal Quick-Step!
As the official partner of Team Soudal Quick-Step, we are incredibly proud of this success – congratulations to the entire team for their spectacular performance, bravery, and true sporting spirit!
